'Cherish' for Mixed Media & Arts

Hello crafty friends!
It's my turn to show my page created for Mixed Media & Arts blog,
this month we have a winter inspired mood for you,
and this is what I created.

'Cherish'

I started with some Blue Fern Studios papers, this collection was my absolute
favourite by them, and I was really saddened to read the news that they have closed...
(I just went and read that Leslie sold the company! it will live on! yay!)
Blue Fern Studios was the first 'real' design team that I was offered and it
was also where I met my craft 'bestie' too - way back in 2014, and we are
still cherished friends to this day. I love the grungy feel to this collection,
it really inspires me to go wild with paints and mediums... when I let myself roam
free creatively, it always leads to me a very raw chaotic place with lots
of splashes of color and raw textures.
The stark desolate feel to this month's moodboard inspired me
to use a dark background with some twigs that I painted with white acrylic paint,
some torn up lace, flowers and a vintage photo of a forlorn young lady.

'Wonderful....' a new layout for Art Playground!

Good morning my crafty friends!
Have you seen the wonderful new blog called Art Playground yet?
I have followed Sharon Zlv - she goes by Noomish,
for quite a while now.... her dreamy totally gorgeous
layouts are so beautiful and inspiring and I love her romantic style.
You can find her Youtube channel here.
Well, she has started her new challenge site where I have been truly blown away by
some of the art from her design team, and she asked me to Guest Design with the
July moodboard and this is what I created....

'Wonderful...'

I used some Blue Fern Studios paper from the 'Tattered Walls' collection together with an
old Blue Fern Studios title chippie and round chipboard wreath from my stash, and then added lots of watercolor splashes and 49 & Market flowers. The theme this month is 'Tell Your Story',
and the way I do that with my pages is by using old family photos....here it is my grandparents.
Using these photos mean a lot to me as I don't have that many of them, and they are a way
to connect with my family past and keep their memories alive.

Here is the July palette:

For more info on how to join in the challenge please go here.
I really enjoy looking at every post on this blog, and I hope you help me
support Sharon on her new adventure...we all love a good challenge don't we?
I know my creative juices start flowing when I see a wonderful color combo
or thought - provoking theme.

Thank you so much Sharon for the invitation!

I hope I have inspired you to tell your story?...
come and play with us!

'A garden of one's own....' for Memuaris blog

Hello dear readers, I'm back to share a page I created inspired by the brilliance of
Virginia Woolf.

'A garden of one's own....'

I've never been great at titles but I have found a solution in these little Prima alphabet stamps...
I never can find the right materials....alphabet stickers, chipboards, word stickers?
But as I was creating this design (which turned out so much more chaotic than unusual)
this title - a little play on Mrs. Woolf's words - popped into my head.
Yes, a woman does need a space of own's own...if only to sort out the chaos,
the wonder, and the emotions we struggle with..... just as she did.

I was invited by the lovely ladies at the blog called Memuaris to be a Guest Designer.

Here is the wonderful sketch I followed:

To find out more about this challenge, please go here.

Here are some close ups:

I used the beautiful 'Tattered Walls' paper collection by Blue Fern Studios,
I just adore the vintage patterns and colors. I used two different papers
to follow the sketch and lots of watercolors and stamping.

“When, however, one reads of a witch being ducked, of a woman possessed by devils, of a wise woman selling herbs, or even of a very remarkable man who had a mother, then I think we are on the track of a lost novelist, a suppressed poet, of some mute and inglorious Jane Austen, some Emily Bronte who dashed her brains out on the moor or mopped and mowed about the highways crazed with the torture that her gift had put her to. Indeed, I would venture to guess that Anon, who wrote so many poems without signing them, was often a woman.”

'Be true to who you are...' a new page for Mixed Media & Art

Hello dear readers! I'm late this month with my project for my favourite
blog in the whole world....Mixed Media & Art, but here it is....
I am so happy to be staying on this team into the
new year! Thank you Olya for your support and your friendship xo.

'Be true to who you are....'

“Nothing is absolute. Everything changes, everything moves, everything revolves,
everything flies and goes away.”

So I've had a MAJOR dry spell over the last couple of months, and it's scary.
I LOVE creating my crazy drippy pages full of bits and pieces of nature,
lace and flowers, but I have had a serious lack of mojo lately.
So I sat down with the November moodboard from Mixed Media & Art,
and I slowly but surely created this page in my usual wild style.
I used some Blue Fern Studios paper for my background and added some
vintage lace, old ephemera, lots of Lindy's Gang Sprays, and
some Prima flowers. I hope you like it!
(and if there's anyone out there with some tips about how to
get my creative juices flowing again, drop me a line!)

Here are a few close ups:

The moodboard was full of greens blues and had a lot of architectural elements
in it, so I tried to copy that look by adding some chipboards covered in white
Prima White Crackle Texture Paste, and some paper clay mold pieces also from Prima.

Thanks for looking!
Hugs, Lisa xo

'Autumn'

Good morning dear readers, I had so much fun creating this new page with
the kit 'Falling Leaves' from Scraps of Elegance, this time something
light and pretty with a touch of vintage.

'Autumn'

I had a best friend once named Autumn when I lived in South Beach, many years ago.
She was a beautiful girl that worked for a make up company
and would give me mini make overs.... we got into a lot of trouble, the two of us :)
This page turned out so light and airy, I used papers from the Blue Fern Studios
'Amber & Apricot' collection in the Main Kit, some Prima ephemera from the
Elements Add On, and some Prima flowers from the Floral Add On.

You can purchase our kits from the online store here.

I would like to enter my layout in a sketch challenge I found on a blog
called '1000 Moments', it was a simple sketch, but I liked the design.
More details on the challenge here.

I added a few pieces of 2 Crafty Chipboard, here it's a vine wreath painted gold.

Thanks for stopping by,
Lisa xo

'Love, Ruth'

Hi girls, I have been digging into the September Scraps of Elegance kit
called 'Falling Leaves' and have created some fall inspired pages full of
rich warm reds and oranges.

'Love, Ruth'

This Blue Fern Studios collection called 'Amber & Apricot' is so gorgeous! I love the
beautiful vintage patterns and the colors are so pretty.  I started with the paper 'Busy Bees'
and then created my background with a 13 arts stencil and some Lindy's Stamp Gang
mists. As I knew I wanted to create a really autumn inspired look ,I picked up some twigs
and some pieces of bark from my back yard and added them underneath my photo,
I love how it looks! My natural elements really play off the beautiful silk leaves
that came with this kit.

Our kits sell out so quick! The best way to make sure you don't miss out
is to become a subscriber, more information here.

I would like to enter a task about autumn  that I found on the beautiful blog
'Happy Bunny', you can find more info about the challenge here.
