'three girls'

Hello friends...hope everyone is feeling fine....

I saw one of my favorite scrapper girls create a video for Lindy's Stamp Gang October
Challenge and I loved the colors so much I bought the set. An unusual combination for me,
but I love how it all turned out!

I went looking for a vintage photo on Pinterest, and found this beautiful image of three girls and their dolls....so perfect for the haunted look I was going for in honour of Halloween this week. I started with my favorite 7 Dots Studio paper 'As it was before' from the 'Cold Country' collection, then added 'Clam Bake Beige' to the background, and then layered on the other four colors to this set, 'Royal Peacock Fire', 'Kissin' Kinickie Coral', 'Bodacious Blush' and 'Black Orchid Silver'.

Here is Lindy's October Color Challenge...

Aren't these colors beautiful? You can find more info on the color challenge here...
and to buy this Limited Edition set please go here....

I also want to enter my layout in the 7 Dots Studio current challenge all about texture. Besides color,
textures are the next most important design element to me...Here I have used gesso with a mask, four different types of lace, layered lots of vintage papers, flowers, paints
and glued tiny beads to add texture to my work.

See you soon,

'find joy'

Hello everyone..hope you are all great!

I found a new Russian challenge blog a little while ago called Vintage Cafe Card Challenge,
and I saw a beautiful new theme they had going called 'French Vintage'.

'find joy'

More details on the challenge you can find here....

We are pleased to offer you a new job))) of this we still have not)))
Need to make a card or page in the style of French Vintage
Accept work until October 25, inclusive)))

Style French vintage (vintage french) - it is nothing like a modern interpretation of the Norman style, particularly in handmade medium and style of Simplicity (Simplisiti), using specific prints.

The main distinguishing features 5 style French vintage (vintage french):

1 Colour: white, maybe sometimes use shades gray-blue, cold pearly pink, cream, lavender, lilac, beige, gray and silver - gray.
2 Print (picture) - monochrome, retro styled under the more likely it is: logo, label, labels, etc.
3 Sophistication, some aristocratic.
4 Artificial aging - wear, patina, crackles, etc.
5 Easy. Simplisiti - clearly expressed the idea of using the lowest possible decorative elements.

I loved the collage photos and I thought the 5 requisites were interesting. I love the look of really distressed white paint, so I though I would try to create a shabby page with only black and white......
it was really hard to not add color!

Here are some close ups....

The paper is the new Epiphany line from Prima. I added lots of masking, stamping
and some Blue Fern Studios chipboard that I painted white.

So glad you dropped by,
Until next time...

'believe' a layout for Fairy's Challenge

Hello girls...I hope you're all doing well this week...

I was really pleased to be asked to be a Guest Designer at Fairy's Challenge, a Russian blog I
visit often. I see some incredibly talented girls on this site, and this month there is a sketch
by Ira Rulya.....

'believe'

So I found this photo of some magical fairies in the woods, isn't it beautiful? I loved the dark eerie forest scene and I thought that the 7 Dots Studio paper from the 'Nature Walk' collection would be perfect. I started with some masking in the background with a doily stencil and then drew some black circles around the photo with a black watercolor pencil. Then I added some gold paint, stamping, black thread, twine, black beads and flowers.

Here is the sketch....

Here are a few close ups of my fairies......

You can find Fairy's Challenge blog here.....and the October sketch details here.....

Thanks for looking!
Until next time,

'Techno Boy' A new layout for Scrap the Boys!

Hi there! I'm back again to share another challenge with you....

It's time to focus on the boys in our lives with a theme this month of
'Tech Savvy' over at 'Scrap the Boys'!

'techno boy'

Liam loves to write and listen to electronic music with his Dad which isn't surprising as he is a singer and has been ever since he could talk. From Barney, to Backyardigans to Bruno Mars, he sings all the time! So for this month's theme I took a photo of him in the 'man cave' where all the music happens...(now getting him to practice his piano is a whole other story! lol)

I wanted to make this page really grungy so I used 7 Dots Studio paper 9th Wave that I love,
great colors and textures, and added lots of painting, masking and stamping.
I used some Blue Fern Studios chipboard called 'Broken Rings' that
I painted black and some Prima alphas.

Please go here to see the new challenge over at Scrap the Boys....
I always love creating something for this blog as it really gets me into
a different mood, and try a different style....

Thanks for taking a look...
Hope to see you join in!

I appreciate every visit and comment so much....
Hugs,
Lisa xo
