"Create" a layout for Once Upon a Sketch

"Create"

Hey girls! Sharing my layout called "Create" that I made for the Guest Design spot at
Once Upon a Sketch....find Nadia's blog here...love this challenge site, so many beautiful creations..
The journaling theme for February's challenge is "Totally addicted to....."
and of course the first thing I thought of was my scrap addiction.....:) I get so happy when I get a package full of scrap goodies in the mail. My journaling on the back reads " I am totally addicted to paint and paper, I love to think of an idea for a layout and then sit down and let go of all the stress of daily life and enjoy the process of creating (while enjoying my other addiction.....COFFEE! LOL)." I used some 7 Dots Studio papers, Prima flowers and mechanicals, and some Blue Fern Studios chipboard called "Widgetworks" which I colored with mist and then stamped with a Prima Vintage Vanity stamp....

Hope you have a great weekend!

My turn to share on Blue Fern Studios Blog!

Hello girls! It's my turn to share my January projects on the Blue Fern Studios blog! I am really looking forward to working with this amazing company this year, there are some lovely new designs out so please check out their blog here....

So first up is a layout about my grandma....

Here I have used a Quatrefoil panel and a piece from the Bohemian Flowers and I have embossed in white and then misted and stamped. Here is a close up...

Next is a wintery page I created inspired by an old photo I found of me visiting my family in Toronto....

Here I have used the Shabby Flakes and Tattered Diamond Bits which I embossed in white, misted and sprinkled with white glitter...looks frosty!

Did you know that Blue Fern Studios just released their first line of paper? I just received some in the mail today....and the wheels keep turning....(wink wink)....

Until next time....

Narnia

Hello! Well we are still feeling the the chill of winter and I saw 7 Dots had a challenge using snowflakes..... Perfect as I have been working with Blue Fern Studios Shabby Flakes this past week and so I created a page about what happens when you reach the back of the wardrobe.....

"Narnia"

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is one of my all-time favourites and I love the movies they made as well. So I have used 7 Dots 9th Wave paper, some blue and purple mists, some Prima flowers and some old cotton lace that I have ripped up and used under the photo. I embossed the BFS Shabby Flakes and in white and silver. I love this paper so much there is so much texture here with the prints of lace and the colors are so beautiful.  Please visit the 7 Dots blog here, you can enter the challenge posted on the right hand side.
I really cannot wait to get some of the new Cold County papers that have these same icy blues and purples, I think Anna has really outdone herself with her new collection.

Some close ups....

And finally.....

“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.”
― C.S. LewisThe Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Stay warm!

he still believes

Hello! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend? Dropping in here to share my last Christmas layout....This past Christmas was very special to me as I think this might be last one my little man will believe in Santa Claus (there were quite a few pointed questions asked this year LOL)..... but he was so sweet the way he wanted to prepare, the cookies and milk, the letter to Santa, I saw him get so excited to sit on Santa's knee and he whispered in his ear what he wanted for Christmas. So I wanted to scrap this photo to remember that he even though he is getting older and he is seven, he still believed....I am entering this in a challenge blog I just found called Scrapfriends, which I love! They have some short but really enjoyable tutorials, technique shares, and lots of inspiration.
They have several challenges going on at the same time, this one is Color Challenge # 20 you can find it here.

Yummy Scrap #20 - Colour Palette Challenge December 2013

43
Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the last Colour Challenge for 2013.
For December we have a traditional Christmas colour combination, but feel free to use for a non festive layout.
I used some Prima and Petaloo flowers and I can't get enough of the Turkish Bits chippies from Blue Fern Studios which I embossed in white and then cut them up, love them to "bits"!
Have a wonderful week everyone!

fly

Hello girls! I hope everyone is having a good week and staying warm! We have not had any snow yet but some below freezing temps....I recently discovered the Russian blog scrap-tea, which has a challenge called Shadows of Winter - find it here - and after seeing all the beautiful work done for this challenge, I wanted to play along with something very snowy and winter themed. I was inspired by the colors dark navy blue brown and white, the snowflakes - I used a vintage crocheted snowflake star - and the photos of animals, the nature theme, and the silver and brown, which I incorporated using the small brown flowers...I found this adorable little bird and then found some feathers in my stash...... I wish the light had caught the sparkles on this page, it really glitters....I am loving Stampendous vintage glitter sooooo much it's making it's way onto each page lately ;) I also used a Blue Fern Studios circle piece (which ended up being mostly covered up), and a small birdcage piece which I gessoed lightly and then added silver white glitter.....I was looking around at some of the girls blogs that had entered and just fell IN LOVE with this Russian style....it has a very "old world" feel to it, lots of rich textures of old book pages, bits of lace and ribbon and little trinkets, keys, dried flowers.....just pure vintage loveliness.....

Here is the challenge.....

Sixteenth job "Shadows of winter"

Hey, girls!
Today we have a new job, and, of course, we could not forget the New Year's theme: all these pleasant cooking - otkrytochku and gifts for the most loved ones, holiday decor, sparkling shop windows ... So much inspiration in everything!
For a new job, "Shadows of winter" - "Shadows of Winter" - we found a wonderful picture, we loved the colors and the elements)
Conditions:
1. Any work in the New Year and Christmas theme
2. Palette: black, gray, white - the colors are basic brown and ink blue - the colors more, you can also use metallics (gold, silver, bronze)
3. using any of the three elements from the image and be sure to write a post with the work that used

And here is a picture alone, it was convenient to consider.

Some close ups.....

Something a little different for me, but loved the inspiration, how about you, are you ready for a little snow?
