'winter lights'

Hello there!

We are in the throes of winter here in the States...
I would love love some snow to play in...
nothing but long cold dark nights with pale grey days....

'winter lights'

I have really been enjoying my growing collection of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays...and when I saw the color palette for January I fell in love! The prettiest purples, coral and the lightest, softest yellow I have ever seen...so I bought the set, and created a page about how beautiful snow can be.

Here are the January colors....

I have used the following mists...

Don't Eat Yellow Snow

Here a few close ups...

It's so hard to catch the golden glimmer in the Don't Eat Yellow Snow,
but in the sunlight, it's just gorgeous.

I created some texture in the background with white heavy gesso and a mask with circles,
and then layered on the colored mists and my flowers that I sprayed with the purple mists as well.

That's all for now...stay warm!

L'Hiver...a new lo for Scraps of Elegance

Hello friends...I have a brand new layout to show you made from the beautiful Scraps of Elegance January kit called 'Renea's Charm'...It's been very cold lately (still no snow....)
so I made something with a very frosty look....

'l'hiver...je t'aime'

This kit has the most beautiful shabby papers ever...I started here with the Kaisercraft paper 'Amity' from the Rustic Harmony collection as my base and then used torn pieces of the papers pink papers from Fabscraps.

Here is the January kit...

For more info on where to purchase kits please go here...
For more designer work and inspiration please go to the Scraps of Elegance blog here...

Here are a few close ups...

From the kit I used the fluffy white yarn, white lace, a piece of pink burlap, the adorable brown twig hearts and the pink papers under my photo. I used from my stash some Prima flowers, some chipboard pieces that I painted with the Prima chalk ink in 'Old Road', and some Prima beads.

I also used my new Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, Plumeria Pink, I'm Late, I'm Late Slate, and Black Orchid Silver which is really dark black but with a pretty deep purple undertone.

I would like to participate in the January challenge at Factory Decor...

I found Factory Decor on my one my favourite scrappers blog, and I really enjoyed all the amazing work and tutorials. I loved the wintery theme of this month's challenge.

That's all for now...

'hello' a new layout for Scraps of Elegance

Hello lovely readers...Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday and looking forward to a brand new beginning.
What are your hopes and dreams for this new year? Whatever they are, I hope they all come true :)

I am still enjoying the December kit called 'Ever-True' from Scraps of Elegance...

'hello'

So here I started with the paper 'Figurados' from the Cigar Box Secrets collection by Prima as my base, and then layered on pieces of the Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs collection under my photo. I also used pieces of paper from the Prima Cigar Box Secrets 3x4 Journaling Cards....these two collections go really well together.

Here is the beautiful kit from December...

Here a few close ups...

I loved all the Prima flowers in this months kit.

I created some texture in my background by using a Tim Holtz mask and heavy white gesso,
then I went back and traced some of the letters with the beautiful chocolate colored marker
by Atyou Spica that was included with the kit.

Lots of olive green and honey colored mists in the background with lots of messy stamping.
I wanted to do something really grungy, messy and 'boyish'.

See you next time,

Hugs, Lisa xo
