'garden fable' a new layout for Scraps of Elegance

Hello my sweet friends...thanks so much for stopping by!
I so appreciate all the wonderful friends I have made by sharing this crafting
passion....I don't know about you guys....but I LOVE blog surfing, looking at
all the beautiful work that is created by my favourite artists....to me it's relaxing and inspiring...
so glad you're here :)

As always I thoroughly enjoyed the August kit from Scraps of Elegance.
Lots of gorgeous Prima papers and flowers....

'garden fable'

On this layout I wanted to pull the pinks and greens from this photo and then I had the idea to use some 2 Crafty Chipboard 'Diamond Panel' and have the flowers growing up the chipboard to look like a garden trellis.

Here is the Scraps of Elegance August kit...

For more info on where to buy our kits, please go here.
To look at all the beautiful designs by our designers using this kit, please go here.
And don't forget to share your work with our Scraps of Elegance community on Facebook,
we love to see what you create! To join us on Facebook please go here.

Here are a few close ups...

I created my background by stenciling with heavy gesso using the Prima Diamond mask and then used some Lindy's Stamp Gang mists to paint my background in green and pink.

I loved the sweet little white birdhouse Prima resins that came with the kit,
as well as the Prima gems and clock faces.
I took the green organza ribbon that also came in the kit, cut it up into thinner
pieces and wrapped it around my chipboard.

Have a lovely crafty weekend!

'don't forget'

Hello there! I would like to share my first August project for 2 Crafty chipboard.

'don't forget'

For this layout I started with this gorgeous photo of the inimitable Frida Khalo, who inspires me so much. If you have never seen her art before please go here to read more about her.
I loved this pose and the texture of the wall behind her and I thought this Prima
'Timeless Memories' paper was just perfect for this page.

Here are a few close ups...

I saw on my friend (and Lead Designer at Scraps of Elegance) Lisa Novogrodski's blog 'Living in Color' some Stampendous embossing powders called 'Encrusted Jewels' that I had to have. I bought some in several different colors, here I used a copper powder and then I embossed over that using white embossing powder with gold glitter on my 2 Crafty chipboard called 'Groovy Flowers'.

I also used some chipboard called 'Flower Bunch', and for these I painted them with a coat of white acrylic paint and then used some pink and peach gelatos to add color. I rubbed the edges with dark brown ink to give them an aged look.

For some incredibly inspiring and beautiful projects using 2 Crafty Chipboard please visit their blog here. To find out where to buy 2 Crafty products please go here. And don't forget to check out the 2 Crafty Youtube channel here.

I would like to enter my layout in a challenge I found on 'Evolution Scrap',
called 'Peach Mood'...for more info please go here.
I was inspired by the flowers and the peach tones.

Finally I used some of my new Finnabair stamps....I can't seem to do a page without
butterflies!

I hope I have inspired you a little today...
Thanks so much for visiting!

'summer sunday'

Hello girls....it's the middle of August (can we please fast forward to fall already?)
and I'm here to share some inspiration with you in the form of a brand new challenge over
at Words & Painterly...

'summer sunday'

I have to admit this months color palette was a bit of a challenge for me...but that's why I love challenges! It almost forces you to think outside of your own box. I found this pretty photo on Pinterest and just went with a nature theme.

Here is this months challenge...

For more info on this months challenge please go here....
The prize this month is the new 7 Dots Studio collection Lost and Found !

I would like to enter this layout in a new challenge blog I found called 'Creative Club'.
For more info on this sketch challenge, please go here...

Here are a few close ups...

I started with a piece of 2 Crafty Chipboard called 'Viney Page Frame' that I
covered in brown ink and then added some Petaloo flowers.

I would love to see you play along this month!
Happy weekend Lisa xo

'family selfie'

Hello crafty chickies :)....I was overjoyed to open this month's box from
Scraps of Elegance a few days ago....so many pretty things!
As our temperatures here are almost up to 100 degrees, I have no problem whatsoever
with staying indoors, cranking up the A/C and getting crafty:)

'family selfie'

This is a fun photo I took of my boys and I on the beach last month...
my favourite summer memories...I started with the beautiful Blue Fern Studios paper,
masking with a Prima stencil, and then used some mists to color my background.

Then I added some pieces of a vine wreath that I bought at Michael's,
lots of the pretty Prima flowers that came with the flower add-on ( a must have), and some seashells.
Every single time we go to Florida, I always have to hit the gift shop for some shells :)

I would like to enter my design over at one of my favourite challenge blogs called 'Scrapkopilka'.
They are having a challenge called 'Sea Stories'...you can find more about this theme here.
There are always so much beautiful work to be found on this blog! I love looking at all the wonderful projects from the design team and all the challenge entries, all very inspiring to me.

Here is the super gorgeous kit for July from Scraps of Elegance
called 'Malika's Whimsy Kit'.

This month's kit is named after our designer Malika Kejriwal....please give
her blog a visit here. For more info on where to buy these kits, please
visit the Scraps of Elegance store here. And if you're looking for some
inspiration, you can find our blog here.

I loved the Prima Art Ingredients Frosted Mica Flakes that also came with this month's kit,
they gave a shimmer that sort of looks like water, very pretty in the sunlight.

Thanks for looking,
have a wonderful week..

'You make me happy...'

Hello girls....dropping in to share another layout I created for 2 Crafty Chipboard.
As soon as I saw this title I knew what photo I would choose...

'you make me happy....'

Love this photo of my little boy who truly is the sunshine in my life...
his sweet little face keeps me smiling every day :)

Here are a few close ups....

For the title chippie I painted it in black and then covered
it in a thick coat of Glossy Accents to make it really stand out.

I tucked in some pieces of the chipboard called 'Chicken Wire' that I
also painted black, and added some flowers and bling just to jazz it up.

To find out where to purchase 2 Crafty chipboard please go here.
There are so many beautiful and inspiring layouts on the blog here.

Thanks for visiting!
