Flowers for Lily

Good Morning!
I hope everyone is in the middle of a wonderful weekend!
I'm here to share my latest creation using some beautiful new Blue Fern Studios
products. If you haven't seen the gorgeous new paper line, please check out
the Blue Fern Studios blog here, I love the new paper! It is heavyweight, which really
holds up well to any mediums you want to use......Here I have used the "In Bloom"
paper as my base and then stenciled with gesso and added lots of mists and stamping.

"Flowers for Lily"

This is a photo of my niece Lily. My sister told me that last Valentine's Day her Daddy
brought her her very first bouquet of flowers, Lily just loved them and thought they were
so special. So, so sweet. I have taken a piece from the
Manor Hinges and a piece of the Ironwork accents and painted them with cream colored paint
and then stamped them with Ranger Distress ink in Vintage Photo. For the
word 'Delightful' from the Optimist Word Set, I painted with the cream colored paint,
added a touch of pink mist and then a coat of Glossy Accents.
Here is a close up:

My funny Valentine.....

Hello girls! I hope everyone has a warm, safe and loved filled day today.....
There are two people who fill my life with love, my hubby and my son. I have very few good photos of my husband and I which I will definitely have to do something about as I would love to do a page about how much he means to me. My son is a whole different story, I have tons of photos of my little man, just love him to pieces.....

I saw this adorable sketch with the hearts at Scrapfriends here, and I thought it would make for a beautiful Valentine layout......
Here is the sketch.....

You still have time to enter this one, for once I am not posting at the last minute....

Here is a close-up, this is the closest I've ever gotten to 'journaling', I love
layouts with things written on them , but somehow it has never worked out
very well for me.....well, that's all for now......

Have a happy weekend!

Through the looking glass

"Alice"

Hello friends! I bought the amazing Marion Smith papers called Mad Tea Party and knew I wanted to scrap a photo of Alice Pleasance Liddell, the little girl who is thought to be the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I thought I might enter this layout in the January Skissedilla sketch challenge, you can find their blog here, gorgeous work and a yummy prize of some Prima goodies.

I have been totally and madly in love with 7 Dots Studio papers, can you tell? (lol). I love old English authors and Lewis Carroll was a fascinating man, with an incredible imagination. I have used a mix of Prima flowers, some beautiful Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces called "Petite Windows" which I painted black, and some Kaisercraft stamps.....

If you get a chance and love vintage photos, google Lewis Carroll's photographs, they are breathtakingly beautiful....

Hope you all have a lovely creative weekend!
